The Sandwich Man’s Secret

Paul was the kind of coworker most people barely noticed. He arrived on time, wore the same brown jacket through most of the year, and carried a plain homemade sandwich for lunch every single day. His predictable routine became a harmless office joke, with coworkers occasionally teasing him about never ordering takeout or trying something different. Paul always smiled and brushed it off. Then, when he unexpectedly resigned, one colleague volunteered to help clean out his desk and discovered something that changed the way everyone saw him. Hidden inside a drawer was a thick bundle of children’s drawings covered with hearts, crooked handwriting, and messages thanking a man who seemed to be handing out sandwiches.
