Your warmth, familiar scent, soft blankets, and comfortable bedding can all make your sleeping area especially attractive. Cats also tend to rest where they feel protected and can relax without being constantly alert.
Sleeping close to you may also be a form of affection and companionship. Even independent cats often enjoy being near people they trust, and some become especially cuddly when they sense that their owner is tired, stressed, or upset.
