Pancreatic cancer can increase the risk of deep vein thrombosis because some cancers make the blood more likely to clot. A clot in the leg may occasionally be one of the earlier signs that leads doctors to investigate further.
Other symptoms of pancreatic problems can include unexplained weight loss, abdominal or back pain, loss of appetite, jaundice, digestive changes, or unusual fatigue.
Leg swelling or pain is much more often caused by other conditions, but sudden one-sided swelling, warmth, or tenderness should be checked urgently. A blood clot can become dangerous if it travels to the lungs.
