When Margaret finally handed over her card, the cashier stared at her face and asked her name. After hearing “Margaret,” she immediately stopped the checkout line, called the manager, and asked him to bring out an old cardboard box.
Inside was a photograph showing Margaret’s long-lost sister Anna holding a baby. The cashier, Helen, revealed that Anna had been her mother and had left behind the photograph and a letter, hoping Margaret might someday walk into the store.
