The narrator soon notices Baek wearing a rare watch connected to her husband Doyun. When Doyun arrives and stays silent as Baek insults his wife, she realizes something is deeply wrong.
Instead of confronting them, she opens the company’s board meeting as the incoming CEO and immediately removes the discriminatory elevator policy. A later audit uncovers years of unauthorized expenses linked to Baek, ending her position, while Doyun resigns and the marriage eventually ends.
Song Boram is promoted for her integrity, and the narrator moves forward knowing that other people’s assumptions never defined her value. She simply stopped waiting for those who underestimated her to recognize it.
