If restaurants need to enforce age restrictions, they can clearly explain their policies or offer adults smaller portions at an appropriate price. Another option would be providing similar affordable dishes on the regular menu. What seems unnecessary is making customers feel judged simply because they prefer an inexpensive and familiar meal.

Ultimately, food preferences do not determine a person’s age, status, or maturity. Whether someone wants an elaborate dinner or a simple plate of nuggets, they should be able to enjoy what appeals to them without embarrassment. Sometimes knowing exactly what you want and enjoying it without worrying about other people’s opinions is enough.
