Things became even more disturbing when we discovered a key hidden in the shopping bag. Ethan tested it, and it unlocked our front door. Diane had apparently copied a key she’d previously returned. When we checked the closet, Ethan realized a sealed letter from his late father was also missing. It had been addressed to Ethan with instructions to open it when he was preparing to become a father.
