The mechanic’s lien I filed against the property failed almost immediately. I had already paid every contractor and supplier, so the lien offered little legal protection no matter how justified my anger felt. The family trust’s attorney challenged it, and in June the court discharged the lien and ordered me to pay $1,100 toward their legal costs.
