Fourteen-year-old Brooklyn Marie moved on in the Battle Round of The Voice after performing “Titanium” with teammate Kavi Nyx. The David Guetta and Sia hit gave both singers a chance to show their distinct styles, but coach Kelly Clarkson ultimately chose Marie to continue in the competition.

The pairing brought together two performers with different strengths. Nyx, 18, was noted for her range and individual style, while Marie’s lighter, delicate vocal quality drew attention during rehearsals. Team advisor Ariana DeBose was struck by Marie’s raw sound; Clarkson said the decision would depend on how each singer delivered onstage.

Both rose to the challenge. Adam Levine singled out Marie’s control of the song’s higher notes, praising the sweetness and clarity of her upper register. He called her a “revelation” while also commending Nyx’s performance. His remarks focused on how striking it was to hear Marie handle those demanding passages at 14.

Other members of the panel recognized what each singer brought to the duet. Queen Latifah expressed surprise at Marie’s ability to hit the notes, and encouraged her while noting that she still had room to grow. Latifah also praised Nyx for bringing her own personality to the song. Riley Green added to the positive feedback.

Clarkson makes her choice

Before announcing the result, Clarkson described Marie and Nyx as the most distinctive singers on her team. She praised Marie’s pure sound and emotional impact, while highlighting Nyx’s rich vocals and confident, sultry style. Clarkson also told both contestants that their work together need not end with the Battle, regardless of the outcome.

She selected Marie as the winner, sending the teenager through to the next stage of The Voice. Clarkson said Marie had a rare vocal quality that could move listeners, and described her as someone who could keep learning and developing during the competition.

The result followed a performance that put the singers’ contrasting qualities side by side rather than reducing the Battle to a single vocal style. Marie’s high notes earned particular notice from Levine, while Nyx received praise for her range and personality. Clarkson’s decision gave Marie the advancement, but her comments made clear she valued what each contestant brought to the pairing.
