Nicole was the oldest of the three sisters and played an important role in both their personal lives and musical careers. Growing up in Mississippi, the sisters developed a passion for country music and began performing together under the name Red Roots before becoming Taylor Red. Their songs, including “Country Money,” and entertaining online videos attracted millions of followers. To Natalie and Nika, however, Nicole was much more than a bandmate. She was their leader, protector, and closest friend.
Nicole’s battle with cancer began in 2022 when doctors diagnosed her with aggressive stage-three breast cancer. Although the diagnosis shocked her family, she remained determined and drew strength from her Christian faith. She underwent treatment and, for a period, doctors found no evidence of the disease. Sadly, the cancer later returned and progressed to stage four. Despite additional treatment and major surgery, Nicole’s health continued to decline, bringing her courageous fight to an end in September 2026.
