Raised in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, Johnson unexpectedly entered the beauty pageant world in the early 1990s. She won Miss Pennsylvania USA and became a finalist in the national Miss USA competition. Her success opened opportunities in modeling, where she worked with major fashion and beauty brands before pursuing acting.
In 1998, Johnson appeared in Beverly Hills, 90210 and Let’s Talk About Sex. Her later credits included Dude, Where’s My Car? and Wanda at Large. Beyond entertainment, she launched her skincare brand, SkinGlow by Kimmarie, in 2011. She also devoted much of her life to raising her son, Cameron Nino.
Johnson remained active in modeling until shortly before her death, appearing on the digital cover of Grazia Slovenia in August 2026. Her niece, Rhonda Scott, remembered her as a woman whose warmth and positive energy touched everyone around her. From pageantry and Hollywood to motherhood and entrepreneurship, Johnson leaves behind a legacy of determination, creativity, and kindness.
