When a Los Angeles couple left town, they couldn’t have anticipated the wildfires that would endanger their three dogs. Thanks to the heroic actions of two CBS employees, a heartwarming rescue emerged from the chaos.
On January 7, 2025, as the Palisades fires raged, Andrea and Sixuan Pasinetti’s dogs—Alma, Archie, and Hugo—were trapped at home while the couple was away. A dogsitter was unable to reach their Lachman Lane residence due to road closures. Desperate, Andrea rushed back to LA, but roadblocks kept him from the house.
Noticing CBS reporter Jonathan Vigliotti reporting near their neighborhood, the couple reached out for help. Vigliotti and producer Christian Duran raced to the home, where flames surrounded the property. With no key, they prepared to break windows and managed to rescue the frightened dogs just hours before the house was destroyed.
Andrea expressed profound gratitude, calling their actions “the best that humanity has to offer.” Amid the devastation of the Palisades fires, this act of courage and kindness remains a shining beacon of hope.
