Kavi Nyx is turning to new music after her run on The Voice ended in a Battle Round against Brooklyn Marie. The 18-year-old Atlanta singer announced on Instagram that her next single, “Immaturity,” is due November 2, and invited fans to presave it through the link in her bio.

The news comes days after the October 26 episode, when Nyx and 14-year-old Marie, both members of Team Kelly Clarkson, competed with a performance of Sia’s “Titanium.” The four coaches were impressed by the singers’ contrasting vocal styles. Clarkson ultimately chose Marie to advance, bringing Nyx’s time on the NBC competition’s 30th season to a close.

A debated Battle result

The decision prompted criticism from viewers who felt Nyx deserved another opportunity. Some questioned why the other coaches—Adam Levine, Riley Green and Queen Latifah—did not use a Steal to keep her in the competition. Others argued online that Nyx had performed strongly enough to win the Battle.

Nyx had drawn attention earlier in the season with her audition of Billie Eilish’s “Wildflower,” which led Clarkson and Levine to turn their chairs. Her distinctive style continued to attract notice, and her departure disappointed viewers who had hoped to see more of her on the show.

Looking beyond the show

The announcement of “Immaturity” has shifted attention toward Nyx’s plans after The Voice. Her Instagram post drew messages from fans expressing excitement about the release and curiosity about the song, as well as support for what they described as her next chapter.

The single’s November 2 release date gives supporters a new project to anticipate following the competition. Nyx’s elimination remains a point of discussion among some viewers, but her update also offers a look at what she is doing next: preparing to share new music beyond the television stage.
