Kelly Clarkson Marks 43rd Birthday With Riley Green and Ella Langley Cover

Kelly Clarkson marked her 43rd birthday with a solo performance of “Don’t Mind If I Do,” the Riley Green and Ella Langley song, on the April 24, 2025, edition of The Kelly Clarkson Show. The song featured on the show’s “Kellyoke” segment, where Clarkson takes on music by other artists.

The performance gave Clarkson a chance to bring her own approach to a country duet, originally released by Green and Langley. Rather than presenting both singers’ parts as a duet, she performed the song alone, putting her interpretation of its story about the lingering pull of a past relationship at the center.

“Don’t Mind If I Do” is also the title track of Green’s third studio album, released in October 2024. The song followed the pair’s earlier collaboration, “You Look Like You Love Me,” which had gone viral. Green’s album reached No. 8 on the US Top Country Albums chart and No. 25 on the Billboard 200.

The birthday performance was not Clarkson’s first recent Kellyoke cover of a Riley Green song. In February 2025, she sang “Worst Way,” another track by the country artist. The new selection brought her back to Green’s catalogue, this time with a song associated with both him and Langley.

Clarkson has also expressed enthusiasm for Green and Langley as artists and for the way their voices work together. Her solo version of their duet offered a different format from the original collaboration, while keeping the song’s focus on the emotions of a former relationship.

“Kellyoke” regularly gives Clarkson room to perform songs across genres, and the Green covers form part of that broader run of interpretations. With “Don’t Mind If I Do,” the show paired a birthday edition of the segment with a country song that had already connected Green and Langley’s voices. The performance added another Green song to Clarkson’s recent Kellyoke repertoire, following “Worst Way” just two months earlier.
