Season 30 of “The Voice” has narrowed its field ahead of the live shows, with coaches Queen Latifah, Adam Levine, Riley Green and Kelly Clarkson making their choices during the show’s first-ever Cut Week. Sixteen contestants were eliminated in the episode, reducing the 28 hopefuls to 12 advancing acts, while a viewer vote offers one eliminated singer another chance.
Each coach began Cut Week with seven artists. First, they selected two based on performances across the season to secure places in the live shows. The remaining five contestants on each team then performed again, with their coach choosing one more to advance. The episode left each coach with three selected acts before viewers had their say.

The coaches’ picks
Queen Latifah advanced Big Country, an Army veteran whose Blind Audition featured “I Put A Spell On You,” and 16-year-old Mia Knight, who joined her team after Latifah used her “First In” button. Lillie Kolich earned the team’s final place.
Adam Levine chose four-chair-turn artist Lexi Stephens and wedding singer Connor Closs among his first two. After the remaining contestants performed, he selected Dakota Cohen for the last spot.
Riley Green advanced Cade Mower and sibling duo Ferryn & Brinkley, then chose Joe Henley as his third act. Henley performed Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes.”
Kelly Clarkson’s first two selections were 15-year-old Koumba Diallo, a four-chair turn at her Blind Audition, and country vocalist Anna McElroy. Clarkson filled her final spot with 14-year-old Brianna Cameron, who had received a two-chair turn at her audition.

Viewers get one more choice
The coaches’ decisions do not close out the round. Voting opened after the episode, giving viewers the opportunity to bring one eliminated artist back. That singer would make 13 acts in the next round and give one coach a fourth selection.

The result is scheduled to be announced at the start of the following episode on Monday, November 9. With the live shows approaching, the viewer vote is the final step in determining which singer gets another opportunity to compete.
